The Millington Diamond is a 4 cylinder, 16 valve engine but unlike other naturally aspirated competition units, the Diamond Series is a purpose built performance engine. Where as high production, road biased engines are heavily modifyed to extract every last unit of power, the Diamond generates a tremendous spread of torque that is only second nature.
The Diamond is in a constant process of evolution, ever since the first diamond was produced in 1990, different variations have been relentlessly tried and tested to produce a lightweight, reliable performance engine, where counterfeit power fiqures are not required in proving the Diamond is second to none.
The Millington Diamond Series II can be supplied in variants from 2.0 Litre to 2.7, tarmac, gravel, cross country rally, Circuit or hill climb spec and is M.S.A eligible and approved. Every engine weights in at 83kg.
To keep within M.S.A requirements, Millingtons do not focus on achieving the highest peak horse power as a selling point, but alternatively, comprimise for drivability and spread of torque. Whereas producing a naturally aspirated engine with a very high peak power is impressive and easily achieved with the Diamond SII, it is less in keeping with M.S.A requirements.
Millingtons do produce 'ultimate power' unrestricted engines if required, only if suited to the M.S.A requirements of the class it will be running in.
Millington engineering Ltd do not offer warranty on new engines but may contribute to the restoration of the product depending on the nature of the circumstances.
